Dr. Tom Keating, career educator, has founded The Center for Sanitation and Citizenship (CSC) as of 1 January 2016. The Center will develop research, materials, and programs related to civic and sanitation issues throughout the globe.
The Center will continue and expand upon two decades of work of Project CLEAN (Citizens, Learners, and Educators Against Neglect), which has improved public restrooms in schools and communities in Georgia, as well as other locales in the United States, Germany, Ireland, Canada, and India.

Project CLEAN and World Toilet Day in the Media

In connection with the annual United Nations declared World Toilet Day 19 November 2015, Project CLEAN invited New York actor, educator, and activist, Shawn Shafner, known for his sanitation leadership as a “Puru,” to interact with students at three high schools in DeKalb County Schools: Martin Luther King, Jr., Druid Hills, and the International Student Center on the anniversary date.
